Hall of Fame Inductees
Clyde Bonam Sr. Contributor (Class of 1956)
Clyde Bonam Sr. is being honored as a contributor of the Salineville-Southern Hall of Fame. Clyde participated on the football squad that became the 1954 Eastern Ohio Champs but Clyde believes that his most important role for Southern Local was in organizing the Little Indians football program in 1969.
Lisa Corbisello Ferguson, Athlete (Class of 1975)
Lisa Corbisello Ferguson was a member of a basketball team that went 40-0. Lisa won the Lions Invitational three times. Lisa was honored as the Outstanding Senior Volleyball Player for her leadership role.
John McCord, Athlete (Class of 1967)
John McCord was a three sport participant at Southern Local - football, basketball and baseball. John was captain of both his football and basketball teams and received MVP honors.
Cory Boyle, Athlete (Class of 2000)
Cory played three sports during his years at Southern Local. Cory lettered varsity all four years in basketball and lettered three years in baseball. Cory was a distance runner in Cross Country. Cory's junior year in basketball he averaged 18.1 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game, and shot 77.1% from the free throw line.
Cory was honored second team All Area and honorable mention All Ohio Division IV. Cory truly reached the pinnacle his senior year when he averaged 20.8 png, 11.8 reg, and shot 74.3% from the free throw line. Cory's final total was 1067 career points (3rd on the all time list at Southern). Cory shares the record for the most rebounds in a game with 22 (versus Sebring 2/26/99). Cory was the leading scorer in the Tri-County League and Columbiana County his senior year. Cory scored in the double figures, 20 of our 21 games and had 13 games games where he scored 20 points. Cory also had 15 games where he posted a double double. Cory was honored with 1st Team TCL, 1st Team All Area, 1st Team Northeastern District, and Second Team All Ohio Division IV.
